The Hospitality Awards recognize and celebrate our industry’s exceptional members, restaurants and hotels. Awards are presented to dedicated individuals who define hospitality with their generosity of spirit and devotion to their organization and guests.
The awards were introduced in 2017 as an opportunity to celebrate and recognize those who have made outstanding commitments to the industry. With the help of the Hospitality Awards Steering Committee, we strive to recognize the industry’s exceptional members, restaurants and hotels, and create an evening where the hospitality industry gathers to celebrate its successes.

Rising Star

This award is given to an individual who has been in the industry for less than five years, but demonstrates the potential to become a pivotal figure in the hospitality community and excellence in his/her professional work endeavors.

Unsung Hero

This award is given to an individual who enables his/her hospitality to enhance guest experiences. An unsung hero strives to improve customer service out of professionalism and dedication to true hospitality. The award goes to an individual who has made a substantive yet unrecognized contribution to their business, customer or team, and/or who positively influenced the organization from behind the scenes with a positive attitude, a willingness to help in whatever capacity necessary, and a commitment to excellence.

Beyond the Call of Duty

This award is given to an individual who demonstrates a willingness to go “beyond the call of duty,” doing more than one is required or expected to do, offering example(s).  At a minimum, the employee creates unforgettable experience(s) for a guest(s) or colleague(s).

Lifetime Achievement

This award is given to an individual who has proven dedication and commitment to the hospitality industry for over ten years. Ideally, the award is to recognize contributions over the whole of a career, rather than, or in addition to single contributions.

Community Spirit

This award is given to an individual or organization that contributes to the community. Contributions include volunteer efforts, donations, and giving back through various programs and organizations. It recognizes an employee or organization that embodies the spirit of service and community involvement, representing LBHA in the local communities we serve. Please state examples to reference the work.

Special Event Award

This award is given to an individual representing a single event or series of events that demonstrates excellence in service, atmosphere and food.

Safety Award

This award recognizes the individual or company that has a proven track record of maintaining a safe workplace and places the value on a healthy workplace.

Outstanding Restaurant of the Year

This award goes to the individual owner, manager or restaurant that delivers consistent quality and excellence in food, atmosphere and service.

Outstanding Hotel of the Year

This award goes to the hotel that demonstrates excellence in guest service and operations.

Entrepreneur Award

This award goes to the individual who breaks the mold, recognizing a man and woman whose boldness drives them to do things differently and change our city in the most unexpected ways.

Supplier of The Year

This award is reserved for suppliers that distinguish themselves by going above and beyond the industry’s requirements, providing customers with the most innovative technologies and highest quality in the hospitality industry, the “best of the best.”

Housekeeper Award

This award goes to the individual housekeeper who has a proven track record and dedication in the hotel, with an excellence in cleanliness that consistently exceeds guest experience expectations.


Rules and regulations: Nominator(s) and nominee(s) should be directly related to the hospitality industry or registered media within Long Beach. Nominations are only being accepted through the website, linked to survey monkey. All nominations are at the discretion of the five person judging committee and are final.
