The Hospitality Awards celebrate and recognize our industry’s exceptional members, restaurants and hotels. Awards are presented to dedicated individuals who define hospitality with their generosity of spirit and devotion to their organization and guests.


The awards are being introduced in 2017 as an opportunity to celebrate and recognize those who have made outstanding commitments to the industry. With the help of the Hospitality Awards Steering Committee, we strive to recognize the industry’s exceptional members, restaurants and hotels, and create an evening where the hospitality industry gathers to celebrate its successes.

Rules and regulations: Nominator(s) and nominee(s) must be directly related to the hospitality industry or registered media within Long Beach. Nominations are only being accepted through the website, linked to survey monkey. All nominations are at the discretion of the five person judging committee and are final. No nominations will be accepted after midnight July 31, 2017. The top five nominees from each category will be announced by August 28, 2017. The winner from each category will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sept. 27, 2017 at the Hotel Maya.

 

Nominations will be accepted for the following 13 categories:

This award is given to an individual who has been in the industry for less than five years, but demonstrates the potential to become a pivotal figure in the hospitality community.

 

UNSUNG HERO – VOTING CLOSED, stay tuned for further announcements regarding finalists and Sept 27th awards celebration

This award is given to an individual who enables their organization to enhance guest experiences. An unsung hero strives to improve customer service out of professionalism and dedication to true hospitality.

 

BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY – VOTING CLOSED, stay tuned for further announcements regarding finalists and Sept 27th awards celebration

This award is given to an individual who demonstrates a willingness to go “beyond the call of duty”. At a minimum, the employee created an unforgettable experience for a guest or colleague.

 

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT – VOTING CLOSED, stay tuned for further announcements regarding finalists and Sept 27th awards celebration

This award is given to an individual (non-manager) who has proven dedication and commitment to the hospitality industry for over ten years.

 

COMMUNITY SPIRIT – VOTING CLOSED, stay tuned for further announcements regarding finalists and Sept 27th awards celebration

This award is given to an individual that contributes to the community. Contributions include volunteer efforts, donations and giving back through various programs and organizations.

 

SUSTAINABILITY – VOTING CLOSED, stay tuned for further announcements regarding finalists and Sept 27th awards celebration

This award is given to a hospitality company committed to environmental sustainability. This commitment can be proven through instituting green design and equipment, water conservation, local food sourcing and waste reduction programs.

This award is given to the hotel that contributes to the community financial but also through community efforts and strategic partnership to move Long Beach forward.

This award is given to the restaurant that contributes to the community financial but also through community efforts and strategic partnership to move Long Beach forward.

 

ENTREPRENEUR – VOTING CLOSED, stay tuned for further announcements regarding finalists and Sept 27th awards celebration

This award is given to a new business, (less than 18 months) that has made a positive impact on their local community and been a steward within the community it serves.

This award can be a one time or reoccurring special event given for programs that demonstrate a create approach to events, anniversaries, charity events, or holidays.

This award is presented to an individual or organization that show a commitment to the destination through partnerships and innovative ideas, significantly helping move Long Beach Tourism forward.

This award is given to a supplier who has worked in partnership with the hospitality industry to make a difference in the local community.

This award gives hotels the opportunity to recognize a housekeeper/room attendant who show a commitment to exemplary guest service, exceptional cleanliness and a true passion for the hospitality business.
